Dennis A. Gilardi

Biography:

In 1984, Dennis A. Gilardi founded Gilardi & Co. LLC with a commitment to providing personalized, accurate, cost effective and worry-free service. As the need for settlement administration services grew, so did Mr. Gilardi's firm - always striving to refine our approach to executing the four primary components of class/mass action Due Process: Notification, Processing, Distribution and Reporting.

Before establishing Gilardi & Co, Mr. Gilardi spent fifteen years in public accounting, primarily in consulting and financial auditing in the healthcare and real estate industries. With more than 25 years in the industry, Mr. Gilardi is a widely recognized class/mass action Due Process expert, and a Court-accepted Expert Witness. In addition, he has long been active in his community, serving on the Boards of a number of organizations, including a more than twenty-year relationship with Hospice of Marin. Mr. Gilardi earned his undergraduate degree from Saint Mary's College and his MBA from Santa Clara University.

Peter L. Crudo

Chief Operating Officer

Biography:

Mr. Crudo is the Chief Operations Officer of Gilardi & Co. A former counsel and senior executive in several corporations, he oversees all aspects of Gilardi & Co.’s operations. Prior to joining Gilardi & Co., Mr. Crudo was the Senior Director of Commercial Strategy and Structure at Verizon. In addition to his corporate experience, Mr. Crudo served as a member of the Jesuit International Volunteers in Saipan for three years after college. While in that program, he taught high school, tutored prison inmates and taught English as a second language to immigrant workers.

Mr. Crudo is a board member on the Okizu Foundation and is active in the World Affairs Council of Northern California. He holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, a J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and an LL.M (with high honors) from the University of London (School of Oriental and African Studies). Mr. Crudo has also studied at the National University of Singapore.

Lara McDermott

Director of Securities

Biography:

Lara McDermott is the Director of Securities for Gilardi & Co. Prior to joining Gilardi & Co, Lara was a Vice President within the Operational Risk Management Division of Algorithmics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fitch Ratings. Lara has designed and implemented numerous operational risk management programs for the leading international financial institutions - integrating software applications, data services and significantly diverse operating procedures

Lara’s professional experience began as a banking auditor in San Francisco. She continued to demonstrate leadership and practical experience as a senior auditor for PriceWaterhouseCoopers with overseas assignments in Singapore and Hong Kong. During this period, Lara gained significant practical experience working with the International Accounting Standards as well as the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Lara McDermott holds a Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Australia as well as a California CPA License. Lara graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A in Business Economics and B.A. in Psychology.

Dan Burke

General Counsel

Biography:

Dan Burke is the General Counsel and Director of Consumer Affairs at Gilardi and Company. In this capacity, Dan advises Gilardi & Co. on legal issues and corporate governance matters. Additionally, Mr. Burke manages the Consumer department at Gilardi.

Prior to his arrival at Gilardi & Co., Mr. Burke served as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County for 14 years. He has tried more than 100 cases to verdict, including in excess of 40 jury trials. Most recently, as a member of the “gang unit” Dan coordinated the prosecution of violent felonies committed by gang members in the City of Oakland. In his capacity as a prosecutor, he also held positions on the felony domestic violence unit and in the law & motion department. Mr. Burke has successfully prosecuted criminal defendants for a variety of crimes including those accused of murder, sexual assault, “three strike” cases and domestic violence.

Before working as a prosecutor, Mr. Burke served as an extern for California Appellate Court Justice Timothy Reardon. Mr. Burke has lectured at numerous venues including California Judicial College and seminars held by the California District Attorney’s Association.

Mr. Burke received his law degree from Golden Gate University and B.S. in Marketing from Santa Clara University. He is a member of the California State Bar.

Kim A. Wagner

Director of Information Technology

Biography:

Kim A. Wagner has been with Gilardi & Co since 1989, directing our Information Technology group for almost ten years. He is the architect of our scaleable networking environment and ensures that we remain technologically flexible to meet the demands of our clients.

During his tenure with Gilardi & Co, Mr. Wagner has managed our proprietary securities case software application, and led the development and implementation of our internally produced non-securities case (consumer fraud, anti trust, predatory lending, employment, etc.) software application. In addition, he has guided our firm through the evolution and use of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, leading to ever more efficient and accurate capturing of claimant information.

Bruce H. Cozzi

Fund Controller

Biography:

Bruce H. Cozzi joined Gilardi & Co in 1992, and has since established himself as one of the leading experts in Qualified Settlement Fund distribution and taxation issues. With direct oversight of our Distribution team, Mr. Cozzi manages our industry leading procedures for the control, disbursement and reconciliation of the more than 300 bank accounts we are responsible for at any given time.

Before coming to Gilardi & Co, Mr. Cozzi was a principal at another professional services firm. During his eleven year tenure with that organization, he managed all accounting/finance needs and oversaw the performance of over thirty Project Managers servicing roughly 400 active projects.

Stacey N. Witchel

Financial Controller

Biography:

Stacey Witchel is the Financial Controller at Gilardi and Co. LLC. Ms. Witchel began her career in a big eight accounting firm as a staff auditor, before moving on to serve in progressively senior financial management roles in the publishing industry, including posts at AOL Time Warner and International Data Group. Among her many accomplishments in her 20 years in finance, Ms. Witchel has established new accounting policies and procedures for start-ups, tightened controls in existing businesses and has led several successful accounting system conversions. In her capacity as financial controller, Ms. Witchel is responsible for the daily financial operations of the Company, which includes ensuring adequate controls and procedures are maintained, as well as oversight of billing, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting and analysis. Ms. Witchel holds a BS degree in Accounting from Lehigh University, and is a CPA.

Robert K. Goldman

Director of Fraud Research

Biography:

Robert K. Goldman came to Gilardi & Co in 1998, after a 35-year career in law enforcement. He directs our fraud detection and prevention protocols, and has actively assisted various government agencies in the investigation and apprehension of individuals submitting fraudulent claims. Mr. Goldman has utilized the skills and expertise he gathered in his 27 years as an FBI Special Agent to help our firm secure and equitably distribute billions of dollars in settlement assets.

During his law enforcement career before joining Gilardi & Co, Mr. Goldman completed a number of FBI Academy post-graduate courses in financial crimes investigation, medical insurance fraud, criminal psychological profiling and interviewing techniques. In addition, he has provided fraud consultant services for more than a decade. He earned his JD and undergraduate degrees from Ohio Northern University.

D. Lee Janvrin

General Manager, Emeritus

Biography:

D. Lee Janvrin has been with Gilardi & Co since 1989, overseeing virtually all facets of our Securities Division during his tenure. Having directly managed the successful administration of close to 1,000 securities settlements, Mr. Janvrin is one of the most experienced professionals in our industry. His knowledge and expertise are incredible assets benefiting every case our firm handles.

Prior to joining Gilardi & Co, Mr. Janvrin held management positions in the insurance, finance and software industries. Since earning his Psychology/Economics degree from Lafayette College (Pennsylvania), he has achieved professional designations as a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant, and has obtained his NASD Series 7 License.
