This site provides information concerning
two of the cases involving Montana Power Company which were brought by plaintiffs in a class action initiated in the U.S. District Court, District of Montana. Within this site, you will find detailed information about the settlement, how to file a claim, eligibility for participation and distribution and answers to frequently asked questions.
Under the proposed settlement,
Touch America Holdings, Inc. ("Touch America" or "TA") will pay $19,000,000 to settle the lawsuit while $39,280,000 will be provided for the
McGreevey, et al. v. Montana Power Company, et al settlement.
With some exceptions that are explained in the detailed notices about each of the cases, the settlements, if approved by the Court, will provide for payments to persons who:
1. Purchased or acquired Montana Power Company common stock between January 30, 2001 and
November 14, 2001.
2. Owned Montana Power Company common stock at any time between December 17, 1999 and
September 21, 2001.
The deadline to submit claims is June 21, 2010. A single claim form will be used to determine eligibility for both settlements.
